What reaches us, what we do with it and how to say no.
In force from 13 October 2026. Below: the personal information that reaches noverridge while you browse, what happens to it, and the levers you can pull.

What we collect
- Connection details. Your IP address, the user agent string your browser sends, the page that linked you here and a timestamp. Our web host writes these into its access logs automatically.
- Rough whereabouts. Looking up an IP address gives a likely country and sometimes a town. That is as precise as it gets; we never ask for device location.
- Messages. Whatever you type into the contact form or an email: typically name, address, subject and the note itself.
- Consent record. Your cookie answer, kept in local storage on your own device.
Why we use it
- Keeping pages online and safe. Serving content, blocking abuse, tracing errors. Basis: legitimate interests.
- Analytics. Seeing which guides get read, as totals. Only when analytics cookies are switched on. Basis: consent.
- Marketing and affiliate tracking. Allowing a booking partner to credit a referral to noverridge. Only when advertising/affiliate cookies are switched on. Basis: consent.
- Answering you. Replying to what you sent. Basis: consent, plus our legitimate interest in running a responsive desk.
Who else receives data
Only the service providers we cannot run without: the web host and the mailbox provider; an analytics vendor, if you opt in; and affiliate networks plus the hotel or booking site you land on after clicking out, each bound by its own privacy terms. A few of these firms operate servers abroad, which can mean transfers beyond the EEA or UK; in those cases we lean on recognised transfer tools like the European Commission's model clauses. Nobody pays us for personal information.
How long we keep it
- Access logs: deleted within 90 days, save where an attack is under investigation.
- Correspondence: removed two years after the conversation ends.
- Analytics: kept only as aggregates, for no more than 26 months.
Rights under GDPR and UK GDPR
Ask for a copy of what we hold; have errors fixed; have it erased; pause or object to its use; take it elsewhere in a machine-readable file. Consent-based processing stops whenever you pull consent, which for cookies is one click on . A supervisory authority in your country will also hear complaints; for the operator, the lead authority is the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7, uoou.gov.cz).
Rights for California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
Find out which categories of personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or erased, and refuse its sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising. Saying no to advertising/affiliate cookies records that refusal in this browser. Using any of these rights will not change how the site treats you.
Making a request
Write to privacy@noverridge.com, or pick "My personal data" on the contact page. Before acting we might check that the request really comes from you. Replies arrive inside the statutory window: one month under GDPR, 45 days under California law.
Children
The guide is written for adults. If we learn that someone under 18 has sent us personal details, we delete them.
Changes
Revisions to this notice will carry a fresh date at the top.
